The story began with Basil Tippet, C.A. Richardson, and Russell Naylor, who founded the business with a single rented warehouse in Toronto and one van. Initially focused on moves within Ontario, Quebec, and the USA, the company quickly established itself as a reliable and forward-thinking service provider.
Today, the Naylor family continues to lead Tippet Richardson with offices. While our reach has expanded, our commitment to delivering the highest quality moving services remains unchanged. For nearly a century, we’ve been moving not just belongings but lives, stories, and futures with care and expertise.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We have incorporated sustainable practices across all our offices and operations, including:
- Reducing non-recyclable packing materials.
- Using 100% recyclable packing paper and boxes.
- Printing on both sides of documents to minimize paper waste.
- Recycling paper, cans, bottles, cardboard, and toner cartridges.
Green Energy
In 2007, we took a major step toward sustainability by installing solar panels on the roofs of some of our warehouses. This initiative helps reduce our carbon footprint and lessens reliance on traditional energy sources, contributing to a cleaner, greener planet.
Smiles Foundation
Giving back is at the heart of what we do. Tippet Richardson proudly supports the Smiles Foundation, a Toronto-based organization that provides dental care and primary health education to underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic. We assist by offering free warehousing, packing, and loading services for their shipments, helping them extend their reach to those in need.
Move for Hunger
We are proud to support Move For Hunger through our office food donation drives. Each month, we collect non-perishable items to help fight hunger in local communities, making it easy for our clients to give back during their move. By partnering with Move For Hunger, we are able to turn every move into an opportunity to make a positive impact on those in need.
